The number of tokens in each pool determines the price. The smart contract ensures the constant function - x*y=k - is maintained, where x represents the first token and y represents the second token, and k is the constant number. When the first token gets replaced by a certain number of the second token, it is called a swap. Since the ‘k’ remains constant, the balances of the token will be varied accordingly, thus changing the price.
